As Head Instructor and Owner, Mrs. Smith represents the second generation of leadership in her family’s Taekwondo legacy. She began training at just 5 years old and started assistant teaching at age 12 alongside her father, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to martial arts and education.
A 5th Dan Black Belt, Mrs. Smith has competed nationally and internationally, amassing experience in 80+ tournaments, countless seminars, and training camps. Her competitive career includes earning Silver in Sparring at the 2018 USA Taekwondo Nationals. She has trained under multiple respected instructors, including Mr. and Mrs. Maka, Master Jordan Thomas of Spearfish Martial Arts, and abroad in Costa Rica, where she also gained experience student-teaching internationally.
Mrs. Smith holds a degree in Elementary Education from Black Hills State University and spent six years teaching 3rd grade in the Tea Area School District. In 2022, she took partial ownership of the school, bringing together her passions for education, coaching, and community building.
With extensive experience coaching at both local and national levels, hosting tournaments, camps, and in-school programs, and working with students facing mental health challenges, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, physical restrictions, and more, Mrs. Smith is known for her patience, high expectations, strong communication, and organization.
Above all, she is proud to be a wife and mom of two, and is deeply committed to creating a school where students and families feel supported, challenged, and at home.
