Master Dennis Fitzgerald holds the highest belt rank in our school, though you’d never know it by the way he carries himself. He chooses to wear a solid belt, believing that rank is not the focus—effort and growth are.

He began training in the twin cities of Minnesota and later became a student of Mr. Maka after visiting numerous martial arts schools in the area—ultimately choosing ours because, as he puts it, “it smelled the most like sweat.”

Dennis is known for his relentless work ethic. He will push you hard, work harder than you, and bring a level of sparring IQ that humbles even experienced athletes. Quietly intense and deeply committed, Dennis embodies discipline, grit, and authenticity.
